The picture at left was taken February 29th, 2004 on a Sunday at Joshua Tree National Park. Only three months since we met, we already were very comfortable with each other. Even now, just slightly over two years later (now, December 16th, 2005) we are going strong as a couple. We even spent the whole day together the very first day we met back in December 7th, 'spent the night and had sex on that first day too... Though we don't have all that much sex now, we're still quite passionate about each other to this very day.

In the picture, boyfriend (Geppetto, at right), and I show off the newly-stuck Dennis Kucinich bumper sticker on the rear window of my old Ford F-150 truck. We didn't think Kucinich would win, but I liked what he's about the most, of all the candidates. I put a Kucinich sticker on my new truck too!

I had heard people write about a partner with whom they have spent time and shared all or parts of their lives with. I had people I have done that with too, but non with whom I have done it with very consistently nor with my whole heart in it. "I woke up feeling his skin next to mine." a quote I have often heard. I've done that, but not actually felt the meaning or drama of what the author is really trying to convey. I found myself this morning as I woke up with the bliss of "his skin next to mine" as he slept on. How rich it is, something so simple. Why had I denied myself this so long? Keep in mind I was 46 years old (48 now) when we met.... and good looking too. It's funny how people always think "good looking" guys are always having the time of their life. It's not always been true.

I remain amazed.

I'm amazed how simple it is to give-in and allow someone to be in your life. "Simple" I say, but not necessarily easy... or hard. I've spent years keeping people at bay.. for many reasons.
